GS-202

RUST CONVERTER PRIMER

PRODUCT FEATURES

  • Specially formulated product for use as a
  • Converts rust into a corrosion resistant coating while providing excellent adhesion to the subsequent application of primers and topcoats
  • Eliminates the need for sanding on areas difficult to reach
  • Eco-friendly product

Surface Preparation

The surface to be treated should be free of grease, dirt, loose paint and scaling rust. Light wire brushing may be required.

Mixing and Thinning

GS 202 is a one component product and must be applied as is. Dilution of the product with a solvent or thinner is not recommended. GS 202 must be applied at room temperature.

Application

Allow to dry and set for 24 to 48 hours. to permit the coating to harden while converting the rust.

NOTE: Keep coated articles protected form rain during the 24-48 hours set period. Should the surface be wetted during this period, the product will have to be reapplied.

After the 48 hours period, rinse surface with water and allow to dry thouroughly before painting.

Application Conditions

Industry standards are for the substrate temperatures to be above 10º C of the dew point. Condensation due to substrate temperatures below the dew point can cause flash rusting on prepared steel and interfere with proper adhesion to the substrate.

Special application techniques may be required above or below normal application conditions.
